Mini, Small & Micro Wedding Photography in Sussex
Relaxed, Natural Wedding Photography for Intimate Celebrations
Let’s be honest. Most people don’t love being photographed.
It can feel awkward, exposing and a bit “what do I do with my face and hands?”. There’s a whole psychology to why being in front of the camera feels uncomfortable, especially on a day that already carries a lot of emotion and expectation.
But we live in a visual world. Your wedding photos become the way you remember your day. So if you’re going to be photographed, it might as well feel relaxed, human and actually reflect who you are.
That’s why I specialise in mini, small and micro wedding photography in Sussex for couples who want beautiful, natural images without the pressure, performance or awkward posing. My approach is documentary-led and unobtrusive. I focus on real moments, genuine emotion and the small details that make your day yours. No stiff line-ups. No forced smiles. And definitely no cheesy routines (unless you count my questionable jokes).
Since COVID, I’ve seen a real shift in how couples choose to get married. More people are opting for smaller, more intimate weddings that strip away the noise and focus on what actually matters. Fewer expectations. More presence. More connection.
In 2025, I made the conscious decision to focus my wedding work on small, mini and micro weddings. These scaled-down celebrations create space for more meaningful moments and allow your day to unfold in a way that feels personal rather than performative. The best bit? With intimate weddings, we can throw away the rulebook and create a photographic record that’s truly unique to you.
Whether you’re planning a registry office ceremony, a countryside elopement, a backyard gathering or a small celebration with your nearest and dearest, you still deserve creative, thoughtful wedding photography that reflects the energy of your day.
My wedding photography style is natural, unfussy and story-led. I work quietly in the background, capturing moments as they unfold rather than directing every second. I’ll guide you gently when needed, but you won’t be asked to perform or “act in love” for the camera. The goal is to give you space to be present with each other, while I document what actually happens.
If you’re camera-shy, self-conscious, or worried you’ll look awkward in photos, you’re exactly the kind of couple I love working with. You don’t need to be confident in front of the camera to have beautiful wedding photographs. You just need a photographer who knows how to create calm, trust and ease.
We’ll meet in person once before your wedding so we can get to know each other and talk through your plans. To keep things simple, cost-effective and environmentally mindful, the rest of our planning happens via Google Meet and the phone. This gives us the flexibility to fine-tune timings and details without unnecessary travel or fuss.
Then, on the day itself, you get to focus on getting married. I’ll take care of quietly capturing the moments you might miss in the blur of it all.
After your wedding, you’ll receive a carefully edited collection of images that tell the story of your day honestly and beautifully. No drama. No over-processing. Just thoughtful, natural wedding photography that you’ll genuinely enjoy looking back on and sharing.
If you’re planning a mini, small or micro wedding in Sussex and want relaxed, documentary-style wedding photography that reflects your day as it really felt, I’d love to hear from you.
